BSA and LDS Alliance Intact – Local Little Philmont Training

“Alive, alert, awake, enthusiastic!” shouted the crowd of leaders from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) as they attended a Cub Scout training session Saturday, February 17, 2018.  This event dubbed Little Philmont after the well-known Philmont Boy Scouts of America (BSA) training facility in New Mexico, was held at the church’s Klein chapel, 16535 Kleinwood Dr. in Spring, Texas.

Scouts Tackle Missing Flagpole Project At Katy Chapel

The flagpole dedication at the LDS church in Katy, Texas on July 7,  was the culmination of months of effort to fulfill a Boy Scout leadership goal. Over 100 volunteers and well-wishers took part in the event which was the vision of Lisa Davies, Den Leader for 9-year-old Bear Scouts of the Nottingham Country Ward pack 1047.

Eight Boy Scouts From The Same Unit Awarded Eagle Rank

TOMBALL TEXAS – On February 8, eight Boy Scouts were simultaneously awarded the prestigious Eagle Scout rank at a special Court of Honor held at New Kentucky Park. All of the young men are members of Troop 619, which is sponsored by the Lakewood Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Orion District, Sam Houston Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA).
